Organise a cleanup

Last updated: 3 September 2026

A cleanup brings volunteers together around one or more dumps, at a set date and meeting point. Everything is run from the app.

Who can create one

Anyone with an account whose phone number is verified. That check is a safeguard against abuse; it is done once, from the account settings.

The steps

1. On the map, pick the dump or dumps to tackle.

2. Create the action: meeting point, date and time, area covered, gear planned and provided.

3. Publish it. It then appears under “Nearby”, and residents subscribed to the area get an invitation.

4. Participants sign up. You track the list from the organiser area.

5. On the day, check people in as they arrive.

6. After the pickup, add the “after” photos, close the action and fill in the summary (bags collected, dumps cleared). A shareable recap is generated automatically.

Safety and good practice

Bring gloves, sturdy bags and hi-vis vests. Sort what can be sorted. Tell the municipality so the bags get collected.

Never handle hazardous waste — asbestos, needles, chemical drums, gas canisters. Report it and leave its removal to the relevant services.
